Our Recovery Program
For our team, holistic care means supporting the whole person by focusing on the mind, body, and lifestyle. As part of our comprehensive approach, our clinicians offer additional classes that complement the core curriculum throughout the program and address the interconnected areas of wellness.
Individuals in our program receive monthly mental health therapy sessions which deepen self-awareness and help identify healthier coping strategies that may be needed. We also welcome collaboration with outside therapists to ensure continuity of care to provide the most supportive experience possible.
Throughout our program, we also incorporate Motivation Enhancement methods to help individuals explore and strengthen their internal motivation for change. This method supports clients in identifying their own reasons for wanting to shift their relationship with substances and empowers them to move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and commitment.
Alternative Wellness Classes
Our Seattle wellness programs include a Wellness component led by a Naturopathic Physician that focuses on the nutritional and physical ways of healing the body and brain from the use of chemicals. Studies show that the brain has an enormous capacity to repair itself and our alternative wellness program helps introduce simple, natural methods to help this process. With user-friendly language, our naturopaths explain the physiology of addictions, cravings and positively rewiring the brain. Lively, interactive discussions filled with information on nutrition, vitamins and supplements are presented throughout our program. An emphasis on improving healthy living choices including exercise options, sleep habits, and stress management is all a part of the topics taught and shared in our mental wellness classes.
Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention
Due to the overwhelmingly positive feedback from our clients, we have added a Mindfulness component to all of our programs. Mindfulness for relapse prevention has been shown to be highly effective in preventing relapse to addictive behavior.
Mindfulness relapse prevention classes teach a basic set of practical skills in deliberately noticing what is going on both in and outside the body. This gentle, non-judgmental awareness leads to a greater tolerance of all forms of discomfort or unhappiness.
Practicing Mindfulness relapse prevention promotes new thought patterns that typically lead to renewed vitality, sense of personal power and a highly improved ability to avoid relapse.
Come practice a new way of existing in each moment of your life. Deepen your understanding of how body therapy can assist you in making lasting changes.
Polyvagal Theory Classes
Polyvagal Theory in therapy is a powerful and experientially intuitive framework for better understanding how our nervous system affects our psychology.
Through a Polyvagal therapy lens we learn how our nervous system influences our felt sense of safety and connection in response to self, environment, and others.
As we listen to the body with polyvagal therapy training, we learn to turn toward and be with our experiences and improve our ability to respond rather than react. When we learn to befriend the nervous system and anchor in autonomic safety, the challenges that we face as we go about our daily lives aren’t quite so daunting. Through our focus on nervous system flexibility and balance, our therapy classes will build resiliency and capacity to more actively engage in our lives.
“The intensive program is wonderful. I loved getting to know the other women and providing/receiving support.”
