In this course, you will learn various styles and traditions of yoga and meditation including (but limited to) Kundalini, Kriplau, Yin and Restorative therapeutic modalities. Each student will complete the course with a wide application of techniques to use in everyday life, off the mat, outside of the classroom. You will acquire extremely practical tools to be able to regulate mood and change old patterns and habits that no longer serve you. The skills learned here will provide valuable to make mind-body connections once typically avoided with previously ways of dealing with stress or disease.

Each meditation and yoga technique has been specifically chosen to improve and change brain chemistry functions. This practice targets psychological, neurological, physiological and behavioral processes implicated in recovery and relapse prevention. Further targeting the nerves system, especially the parasympathetic nervous system which is key to stress relief and ability to function at your best. In addition, improving secretion of the glandular system, pituitary and pineal glands, regulating the stress hormones cortisol and adrenaline which is vital to metabolic functions associated with sleep, stress and mood.

Each student will learn breathing techniques, asanas (physical posture), meditation, use of mantra, mudras, guided imagery, body scans and yogic anatomy. Master working through discomfort, both mental and physical. Learn to listen to your body, tune in, feel comfortable and grounded within yourself. Explore the benefits of deep relaxation techniques that are key to success within a busy lifestyles and relapse prevention.
